I'm a Germany/Munich based sysadmin.
I run a couple of high traffic websites, some smaller sites and manage a few networks.
I'm also for hire as a consultant.

You can probably work around this by deploying a shell script which executes this command. But: can you please explain better what you are trying to do? You know that generate runs on the master server, not the node, right?

The single quotes at cut -d ',' need to be escaped.

comment php-mbstring no package available on RHEL6?
Well, you need the Base repo (or whatever it is called in RHEL now) and the one I mentioned. Then just run yum install php-mbstring php-devel.

Probably access.redhat.com/solutions/70019 but I don't have access to a RedHat subscription anymore to confirm.

Is this for providing the customer a quick and easy test/showcase version? Or are you asking how to distribute the final product to your customers?

Yes, and your server 302 directs it somewhere else. What is your question?

comment Puppet: differences between centralized and decentralized manifest distribution
I don't know, that duplicate question/answer isn't that great either. A lot changed since then. Setting up a Puppetmaster is pretty easy for a professional. I wouldn't want to miss the advantage of centralized reporting (via Puppetdb). I think this question is pretty much opinion based.

comment Cant install php-posix on CentOS 6
If he was on a fresh system that would work. But php55w-process requires php55w-common which will conflict with the php-common from remi. This will not work in his situation.

As far as I know 14.10 doesn't use systemd yet, but I'm not a Ubuntu guy. I could be wrong.

Yep use also initctl list or just general ps ..., at least until systemd is being used...
