Reading serverfault is a humbling experience: I now know just how little I know.

comment Apache returning incorrect mime type for meta-data.xml.md5
My guess is that apache is incorrectly deciding that MD5 is a Content-encoding (see also: the rest of the page about how mod_mime handles multiple extensions)

comment OpenVPN server cannot ping client (routing/iptables issue?)
Once the tunnel is up, can the Windows client ping the OpenVPN server over the tunnel and get a response back? If so, then the tunnel's working both ways and it's probably a firewall problem, likely Windows's firewall.

comment Grub CLI Arrow Keys Don't Work With IPMI SOL
What is your grub configuration for GRUB_SERIAL_COMMAND? The speed and connection parameters to use should be specified in it.

comment LVM on disk with no partition table. How to reallocate free space with fdisk?
It's not clear what you are trying to do. If you want a new filesystem you should use lvcreate to allocate a new logical volume within the available physical volume. If you want to remove the free space from the physical volume and turn it into a standard partition, that's going to be a lot more work.

I wonder if a separate firmware update could be required for the NIC?

comment How to make exim4 on Debian safe?
Blocking mail forged from your own domain is one thing. The assumption that "real mail hosts" are always in the MX server list is wrong.

comment How to make exim4 on Debian safe?
This sounds like a really bad idea, especially for mail from domains where the MX record points to an outsourced spam filter server (or even just a spam "firewall" appliance server), and some other server handles outgoing mail. Or all mail from Gmail.

comment How do I pipe the output of the journalctl to cURL?
-N seems to be for curl's output, not for curl's input. I'm about 90% certain that curl is going to sit there and wait for input to finish so that it can calculate the Content-Length: header.

comment FTP Server on Windows Server 2012: Works on localhost, error accessing folder when using domain
Are you using ftp://mydomain.biz:2020/ from the same server? Another computer on the network? or another computer on a different network through the port forwarding on the router? The generic error message you got says your client is attempting to connect to 192.168.1.165 port 50297 due to the server's PASV response

comment local short host name resolution: DNS/BIND vs. netbios vs. Windows
I'm guessing your DHCP server is not broadcasting the Domain Search List so computers know what domains to try on unqualified hostnames.
