comment How do I make Windows 7 treat a VPN connection to a subnet look like a non-“public” network?
OK, thanks! I haven't been in this situation in a while, but I'll keep this in mind.

date -s "`date`" worked for me.

The LKML thread indicated that date -s "`date`" helps - it certainly helped me.

comment How do I configure Jetty (via jettyrunner) so that it names a character set in the Content-Type response header?
The problem is that an actual "Content-type" header in the response will make the browser ignore that information from meta tags.

Well yes that would be a fairly important thing for me to have missed :-) Thanks, this is helpful. And I do read the documentation - if you look at the 8.4 page about the SQL Dump method, it does not mention that option anywhere. (I'm sure it's in the man page of course, but I didn't think to look there this morning, mostly because - as you say - the docs are so good I normally expect them to be comprehensive :-)

Thank you for this answer - it has been a while since I had to worry about this, but I'll definitely try to remember next time I do.

comment OpenVPN client for Windows 7 64-bit
I think the Windows 7 installation's about as good as it can be. The DLL problem I've found was just a result of the installer failing to stop an old version of the OpenVPN GUI. Once I killed that, install works, but I still can't get it to add more adapters, and the one the installer creates can connect to a VPN but then not do anything. I tend to become enraged whenever I come in contact with Windows anyway; it was a whim project. Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure that's one of the versions that gives me the errors about libeay32.dll. The errors come up in the installer, and then if I "Ignore" it the client fails as soon as it tries to connect.
