MD5 is neither encryption nor is it safe to use.

Well, it's certainly not going to work on Windows EC2 instances.

comment SSL Architecture Advice Needed
I'd use a UCC/SAN certificate (can have up to 100 domains on one) and maybe something like Namecheap's SSL API to provision them.

comment Switching DNS is breaking https redirects
"This seems strange to me because it sounds more like a DNS issue" If HTTP is working and HTTPS is not, it's not a DNS issue. What's the actual domain name in question?

comment Is someone trying to hack into my VPS?
"Is someone trying to hack into my VPS?" The answer to this is yes, always. Maintaining a VPS involves preventing them from being successful at it - you can't stop the automated attempts that hit every IP on the internet regularly.

comment Is it possible to use a gpg public key to encrypt a message without importing the key?
"Importing the key in this instance seems unnecessary." So's deleting it, though. You could just keep 'em around.

@adrianTNT Yep, sorry!

comment Do I need a new certificate?
SSL certificates are not server-specific, and it's the hostname the user sees, not the hostname of the server that matters.

comment Can I define a sub-domain for a record set at my ISP?
@adrianTNT domain.tld's nameservers handle requests for *.domain.tld. If whatever.domain.tld returns a set of NS records, it is considered delegated and those nameservers control whatever.domain.tld and whatever.*.domain.tld.

comment Skimp on CPU or skimp on RAM?
@AD7six Yep. From my experience with shared hosts, they have a form reply for "your fault! <random bullshit reason>". I wouldn't trust their statement that the OP incurred too many connections.

40,000 monthly hits is about one per minute. If you're hitting "too many connections" with that you've got a different problem. An Apple Watch should be able to serve that level of traffic, let alone the specs you've laid out.

@AlexB OK, but SDNS2.OVH.NET is not returning any DNS records for your domains. You need to either get them to fix that or remove it as a nameserver.

You can't redirect with DNS alone - you'd point the DNS at your server, and have Plesk serve up redirects. Plesk is a cancer and such systems are deemed off-topic here.

Give us the actual domains so we can take a look.
