comment May I use SQL Server in a Google Compute Engine instance?
Looks like it's BYOL: cloud.google.com/compute/docs/operating-systems/…

comment Who is responsible for performing the query EC2 or RDS?
@user3892683 Yes, but it isn't a magic bullet. Depends where the bottleneck - blindly adding an RDS to the mix can cause slower performance if you're not diagnosing first.

s3:* should already cover all of those.

comment EBS vs Instance Local storage for MongoDB in ec2
@stevelandiss Because in the unlikely but possible situation that your instances all go down at the same time (region failure, perhaps) you'd lose everything despite replication.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it doesn't even make sense.

comment How can I set up an SFTP server backed by S3 (or similar)
code.google.com/p/s3fs is probably your best bet. On top of the transfer costs @HopelessN00b points out, that same 100 TB will cost you $3k/month to store.

Can you give us the actual domain so we can check the SPF record?

comment EBS vs Instance Local storage for MongoDB in ec2
That depends. The data on an instance-store drive is irrevocably destroyed when the instance is terminated. If you've got a replica set setup and good backups, the performance might be worth the risk.

comment Distributed computing through AWS
I'm not sure Lambda would be an effective solution for ffmpeg video encoding. AWS Elastic Transcoder would probably wind up cheaper/easier.

comment Is it a bad idea to stop unnecessary services running
If you're truly not using it, removal is certainly superior. I'm a little dubious that your system doesn't need ntp or xinetd internally, though.

IIRC, CloudFlare flattens CNAME records so they act as As. blog.cloudflare.com/…

I see okaymaker.invoices.debug.okaymaker.com having A records pointing at CloudFlare.

If you'd give us the actual domain in question we could check it out for you.

CloudOps? Do you mean OpsWorks? AWS doesn't have a product called CloudOps.
