comment Finding the origin of a package not from an official repository?
This could be it, thanks! I've managed to find the source and *.deb file on this server so it looks like a package was built from source and installed around this time. Still, I would like to know if there's a way to find this out (e.g. audit record, install history) aside from searching the OS for *.deb files and assuming that's where it came from.

comment Configure Squid to cache images explicitly called from img src=“”
ok, this is the only thing that's working for me (cache headers are not). How do I refine this to only cache .jpeg, .png and pass all others through?

Hi, I change the acl to acl JPEG urlpath_regex \.jpeg$ but the requests are still getting through to apache. My complete config is above. To clarify, I'm looking for squid to pass through the image request to apache (PHP) the first time, cache it, then serve it itself from then onwards

Hi, I've installed squid and configured as updated in my question and it seems to work, but as soon as I add the config lines shown I get no-response errors?

comment IIS Windows Authentication except for local machine
Thanks, unfortunately rewrite rules and whatnot made the duplicate Web Site solution much easier.

comment IIS Windows Authentication except for local machine
worked brilliant thanks. Set up new Web Site pointing to the same root , set binding to 127.0.0.1, set IP Address and Domain Restrictions to deny from all and allow from 127.0.0.1, changed WebRequest code to use 127.0.0.1 as the host in the request url

comment IIS Windows Authentication except for local machine
I do need the authentication for both, but I need the application to bypass it so it can get content from the PHP site, either by through settings in IIS or passing authentication (when required) when it makes the request.

comment Can I use Web Deploy to deploy a PHP application from IIS on Windows 7?
Thanks, I found that I needed to uninstall Web Deploy 2.0 and the management tool and then re-install using the msi installer to get the deploy actions available in IIS Manager. I also found I could successfully do a Web Deploy of a PHP project using Web Matrix.

comment Where is my SQL Server 2008 R2 / Windows 7 install?
Ahh, yes, you are both right. I missed the option thinking is was for replication and full-search. I didn't fathom that the default install of SQL Server would not actually install the database engine lol.

comment set tap0 using virt-manager for bridged wireless
thanks Saurabh, but this round-about way is because wireless interfaces don't support normal bridging, like you would with a wired eth0 interface.
