The problem about StackExchange in my opinion is that everyone should be a great expert not to get downvotes (never read about tcpdump, for example)... If I was one I'd not be here to ask, right? Of course errors can be made writing questions but a little help from who's better (and downvoting) would be a good thing, imho. :D Anyway your ideas are of help. I'll investigate about tcpdump and try to post more details (I think I am able to find out if dnsmasq is running or not) |

Dnsmasq not distributing address as dhcp server I am trying this (with simple dnsmasq) but when I connect the phone to this open network with the raspberry as dhcp server the phone disconnects saying "poor quality network" which happens when the dhcp is not there... I post my dnsmasq config file. |

How can I use iptables to forward all traffic to a certain website? totally worked for me! Thanks! I just need something to handle 443 traffic and redirect it to port 80 on the other webserver but I loved this. thanks :) |

All my users' browsers are already configured correctly to point to my squid on port 3128 and they authenticate without problems. I've just find out that disabling the proxy allows users to roam free on the internet and I want to prevent a smart user to achieve this kind of result :) |

I want users to authenticate or to have internet surfing disabled... Not necessarily using squid... Let's say better: I want that the only way available to my users to surf the internet is squid on 3128, with auth. :) |
