comment What are the limitations when running all services on a single static IP?
In response to the hold status, I have changed my original title to better reflect what I was really asking in the beginning. I actually was going to have 2 Video Conference sets of the same model and the answers reminded me that they cannot share the same ports.

comment Adminstrator cannot log on to server via remote desktop after changing default domain policy
That's about right. I also noticed that the behavior is different on different computer eventhough the same user account is used to logged in. e.g. the computer which executed a failed login may take continue to be denied, but a new computer will be able to log in.I think it takes a while for the GPO cache to refresh locally client side.

comment How, if possible, to join a computer to a domain when it is not in the domain geographically?
Finally got the chance to test it. And it worked!

How to do this on Windows Server 2012? Where is the config file that contains the --defaults-file option?

comment Can I split static IP range between 2 routers, with an upstream switch?
Objective is to remove router A eventually and change some of the configurations, but in the transitioning phase needed a way to test first, while still keeping router A running.

Is there a solution is my case?

I have edited my question. From what you explained, I think i was misunderstanding behavior of subnet mask. I wanted to make the route packets destined for .114/29 to router A and .120/29 to router B, but didn't think GW need to be in the range as well.

comment Unable to restore from Shadow Copy due to long filename
Actually, ROBOCOPY doesn't have the 256 path character limit. May not need the SUBST if using ROBOCOPY.

comment Internet is a series of tubes?
+1 they they simply brush it off by saying "i am not interested". but they simply fail to see that learning is not about whether you are interested or not. It's a fundamental human ability to improve ourselves, and an ability that many people do not use.

comment DNS Redirection - no such thing, or is there?
Seems like there's a bit of heat here. I think I prefer Mark's answer because it is simplest to understand. I can google for 301/302 redirect and find out how it works. Thanks.

+1 thanks for the full explanation, but I personally preferred Mark's answer.

for that matter, I think we cannot CNAME the @ host, so I suspect it's not DNS.

comment Cannot connect to gateway when dhcp server down in windows AD?
Thanks, but to clarify, that means, even though the laptop adapter says its e.g. 192.168.1.100 through "remembering", the gateway doesn't see it the same way? But mnually setting it to 192.168.1.100 instead will allow the gateway to see it? Then why is it that the laptops can see each other under the "network neighbourhood"?

comment Given WAN IP, how to find out the LAN IP?
Actually the WAN is for untangle server, so I know what server it is, I just do not know where it is. So I could do a port scan on in the LAN and find all untangle ports. But the gateway mask is 192.168.224.0/20 and there could be more than one untangle server.

comment Given WAN IP, how to find out the LAN IP?
Not sure if it matters, but I am trying to find out the LAN IP from inside the LAN, same subnet, not outside. Is it still not possible?

comment Given WAN IP, how to find out the LAN IP?
Lols... because I am trying static route packets through the internal VPN rather go by the WAN link. But I need to know the LAN IP on the other side first.

comment What can be preventing Remote Desktop access to remote computer?
I used WireShark and see that packets sent through the untangle gateway never got back. So I added a static route in the Netgear to route VPN IPs back to the untangle gateway and it actually worked. Is this considered a dirty hack?
