Ah so for compatibility with POP, the INBOX mailbox (in IMAP) is stored in cur? And regarding your answer on (2), how would that play out for Maildir?

comment Do I need to change the CNAME entries for moving a custom domain served blogger blog to another domain? (NOT changeing registrar, just DNS services)
Well, the instructions on blogger say that you should put some CNAME entries for the purpose of verification. I dont now so much as to be sure that they will also accept TXT, but anyway, my question essentially is if I have to renew those cname or txt values when the domain nameservers change. They may lock/combine those entries with the domain nameservers, so that when someone move DNS hosting they have to enter new cname/txt values. I dont want the risk of downtime due to this possibility. Fear of the unknown :)

blogger uses cname entries to verify that you own the domain to which you want the blog URL to point to. You are right about cnames but maybe they also check if DNS server has changed and if so, they might require a new cname entry. those cnames contain special long names, like keys or something

comment In postfix, how to enforce tls + auth over 587 while leaving tls optional for 25
Correct but I want to enable optional auth+tls on 25. I just dont want to relay on 25. Essentially I want to be liberal about how someone connects but very strict on relaying(deny all relaying). No Relaying should be permitted unless it comes on 587 and client is authed via tls. Any other combination should reject relaying. I ll probably just remove permit_sasl_authenticated from smtpd_relay_restrictions and put it only in overrides for 587 in master.cf. Thanks.

Thanks, only one blurry point: On port 25 I want to unconditionally deny relaying, no matter if client authenticated or not.

comment When registering a domain, is it possible to designate primary and secondary nameservers by FQDN and IP?
Perfect, thanks. Can you please tell me if this practice is good/bad/doesnt-matter/common/rare? I am asking because it was difficult to find info about it(until now).
