Looks like DreamHost uses mod_suexec and forces its users to use CGI/FastCGI. See, for instance, blog.dreamhosters.com/2006/04/11/end-of-php-as-an-apache-module/… . I wonder how Passenger fits into this, though. Anyone know whether Passenger processes would be run as the Apache user or as the user from whose home directory the Passenger-powered app is run? I'm guessing the latter, for consistency with DreamHost's approach to PHP and Python, but I'm vague on how Passenger interacts with Apache, let alone with mod_suexec.
