@yoonix: Argh, of course. They can transfer the whole zone :P That's probably the reason

The zone is fm.mg. Feel free to compare queries against ns1.hartwig-at.de and 8.8.8.8. Maybe you can enlighten me :P

@HåkanLindqvist: Yes. The zone contains only 1 A/AAAA record for www and the wildcard. The wildcard is what I changed.

@yoonix: So, why am I seeing the old IP when I query a random name on that zone? Random, as in 5571f913b637ef1f27f14fb5, nothing that exists as an entry. Shouldn't that always cause a query to our servers? As mentioned, when I query the same name on our servers, I get the new IP.

comment Can VMs offload checksum calculations to the physical NIC when I disable checksum offload on the host?
That being said, it seems like one can adjust task offloading via the registry. Which makes this task a lot easier. So the question will probably be redundant soon.

@joeqwerty: Yes, this recommendation is coming from the vendor. I've heard the same recommendation previously from other vendors, directly from Microsoft and also from hardware vendors when we were troubleshooting issues in that network. I'm not quite sure how re-enabling the settings now would give me any more insights. I see failures now and I would see failures then. If I disable offload on 1 VM, it could take weeks until I see a failure. How long should I wait until I can reach a conclusion? If the feature is fully disabled everywhere, I could reach a conclusion much faster.

Well, it will cost a lot of time going through each VM and changing the settings in their NIC driver. If it won't make a difference, I'd like to avoid it. Especially since, if it doesn't make a difference, then I'd have to change it back.

Yeah, I really don't want to install Desktop Experience on the server. The current state impacts being able to manage the server because you can't read text on title bars, which is at least very inconvenient.
