Latency in TCP/IP-over-Ethernet networks
TCP_NODELAY is a great tip, but I have found in practice setting tcp_low_latency has zero effect on latency. Maybe there is some esoteric scenario where it makes a difference, but we have tried with different network cards and a range of kernels to eek better latency out and are not seeing a difference with that setting.
