comment Configure Zabbix API through Nginx the most performant way
@fvu pagespeed is good but we use Zabbix API mostly so the performance hit we see with Apache is slow connection time during batch of API requests

@fvu right, I will try that straight away, is there any Nginx/Zabbix specific pitfalls?

comment What’s the difference between the “mainline” and “stable” branches of nginx?
@MichaelHampton this question discussed via mailing list over time. Nginx mainline (development) branch does not mean unstable but possible changes that affect 3rd party modules via internal API, good example is Tengine build with Lua and hundred other modules. Nginx developers recommend to use mainline edition in production.

comment Squid option equivilents in nginx
Share Nginx conf you have even not working, it helps to solve your problem quicker. Be aware that Nginx caches only cookie-less response from backend, so strip cookies like: proxy_hide_header "Set-Cookie"; proxy_ignore_headers "Set-Cookie";

comment Can I compare a variable set by auth_request_set after the auth_request has returned in nginx?
Is it something like pre-validation? Why if conditional expression is to early? Is so, one more location with rewrite and condition there may help... You intend to check the header before make auth_request, correct?
