comment SQL Server 2005 Issue
The usual thing that can cause it to grow in Simple is a stuck open transaction. If you have a transaction that never closes, you cannot ever shrink the log. Run "DBCC OPENTRAN" to find the longest running transaction.

comment Does Citrix XenApp use less network traffic than VNC or Remote Desktop?
Also, the XenApp version would be very helpful, or at least the Windows Server OS version(s) you are running.

XenApp is the server software, and the client software is usually called "PN Agent", "Online Plugin", or more recently, "Receiver". All the clients are a little different, so the more precise you can be, the better.

I think this question should be re-opened. Citrix and RDP are very similar, but there are definitely differences, especially when it comes to latency and unstable connections, which Citrix (ICA) is able to handle better, as well as many options on how to handle those types of connections.

comment Slow Citrix connection related to mapped network drives
Just a thought - can you disable the login script and see if the login process is fast again? If so, then maybe remove everything except the first line of the login script and try, adding each line back until you find the slowness.

comment changed sa password but clients get bad password
Are you sure it's using the sa user account? Check the SQL server's error logs and see if it shows other users trying to log in.

comment windows server 2003 speed issues
Also running a transaction log backup at least daily will keep the log from growing, as well as setting the recovery mode on the database to 'simple' instead of 'full'.

Do you have any entries in your hosts file? (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts)

comment Can't connect via Windows 2003 RDP to Windows 2008 R2 Server
I agree. @Craig Efrein, check your licenses and you licensing mode (per-device or per-user) and make sure they match. Server 2008 R2 has nice licensing diagnostics that should tell you why the licensing isn't working correctly.
