comment What are the possible issues in using very short DHCP lease time (< 1min)?
@sebpiq 100 connections and 100 assigned IPs are a different thing though... in theory, i have a block of 200 address on my DHCP server, but im not going to reach that any time soon...

Thanks @martijn that looks interesting. And iirc Veeam works on hyper-v now too... Will look into it.

comment Installing desktop-experience feature with DSC
probably a stupid question, since i am learning, but i will ask anyway... If you put remote access first, does it work correctly? i know its a "work around" if it works, but just curious...

comment Mangling traffic from a Mikrotik Router
Yea, that looks like its doing the right job. Anything going though the router is now hitting the mangle rules (was originally set to pre-routing, now to output-routing).

comment Routing from mikrotik two IP addresses to same gateway
Yea, i have the same problem with 2 cable modems. I ended up doing the % magic on both of my links and it works correctly.

I think arr is the newer version of redirection... It has some extra features... It maybe your best bet to install and confirm that... Even if you only have a single box...

comment Conceptual: Reselling ISP services (vISP?)
It depends on how you define ISP... ISP is someone who provides an internet connection. Technically speaking, in my home, i am an ISP to my Sister and to anyone else using the Wifi... Larger ISPs need to run cables, own datacenters, etc, but smaller ones can rent a lot of stuff from an upstream provider. In reality, BitBuzz are an ISP, since they provide me with internet connectivity in some areas of Ireland. they do have their own Infrastructure, but a lot of it is piggybacking on other providers (Eircom, for example, are mostly used for broadband, from what i have seen).

comment Automating the creation of SQL servers
I clarified the question above, but its just SQL. the VMWare tool would be overkill for what i need (only 1 or 2 MySQL boxes, no Postgres or Oracle boxes for production...).
