@Jack, in IIS Manager | Home Directory tab, what do you have for Application Protection? Try setting it to medium and I believe IIS will use the anonymous user instead of the IUSR and I think that should solve your issue. See here: imar.spaanjaars.com/287/…

@Jack, that would seem logical, but I think you may need to put the IUSR into the Users group because by default it is a member of Guests.

If you look at the taskmanager on the web server, do you see w3wp.exe? If so, what is the user account listed there?

Are you using Anonymous Authentication and is the Anonymous user the testshare account?
