That would be like placing your door knob behind a curtain to obscure it and deter brake-ins, rather than, you know, locking the door.

comment Programmatically adding two lines to crontab
On that note, he could also place each script directly in /etc/cron.daily/, and /etc/cron.hourly/ respectively. But I figured this way was the path of least resistance.

comment Postfix Thinks VSFTPd is… Postfix?
Of course! In hind sight, I'm kind of an idiot for not thinking of that initially... Well, heck, what did you expect from me at midnight? ;)

That was perfect! In my case I used a - source file rather than - text, but the principal is the same.

The wc command is followed by a lower case "L"... Sorry, monospace should be clearer...

Please post the output of find /directory/of/stuffs | wc -l on both servers. I'd like to see an actual file count...

Also, if no one posts a PowerShell option, then you could always install Cygwin and use the script above in Windows.

Please hire a consultant... I'm not sure of your location, but where I am, schools have to follow certain regulatory requirements related to IT.

comment 802.3ad over Multiple Bridged APs?
Also, I'm marking this as the correct answer because airFiber is the lowest cost solutions I've been able to find thus far. I'll keep it bookmarked for future projects. Thanks. :D

comment 802.3ad over Multiple Bridged APs?
Well, I'm already doing another project at the same location (captive portal system). Once he has done the bridge, I'll test and let you guys know both the tech as well as what the real performance metrics are.

comment 802.3ad over Multiple Bridged APs?
Well, the thing is that my client already has a quote from another guy for doing a wireless (not sure what technology) gigabit connection between the two buildings, and he is quoting them $2.5k for labor and materials. So, I was trying to see if I could do it for even less...

comment Copy entire Centos server to another
Why is cloning the disk "out of the question?" Linux is not like Windows, it doesn't care what hardware it's running on. You may have to clean up a few things such as udev, et al., but it is definitely cleaner than copying a bunch of disparate configuration files and crossing your fingers.
