comment How can I get the cluster size on Windows 2008?
Thanks, this is the only way to view FAT and other partitions; fsutil only shows cluster size for NTFS.

comment logrotate daily and size?
Best option would probably be to use two separate cron commands, run to run it daily with the default conf, and one every x minutes that takes a config with just the files that you worry about overflow using the size directive and not the daily.

comment Apache mod_deflate not compressing javascript and css files?
Helpful additional information: With what browser? (Your conf seems to allow IE 7 only, not 7+ as the comment states.) What mime type does it see the files as? A copy/paste of headers gathered with WireShark would be best of all.

comment Error in openssl s_client: “data length is too long”
-debug in the openssl command might help, but it looks like a genuine protocol overflow. Either the cert and chain are too large (4K everything?) without the proper negotiation to expand the buffer, or there's something gone wrong in communication. Also, AD is always SSL ready from 2003 on unless you force it off in group policy.

You should accept the answer (the checkmark next to the post) since that fixed it.

comment USB 3 External Drives + Hub for Server Backups?
Roaming profiles are pretty much a primitive form of decentralized backup, and you can push much better ones with task scheduler and group policy. He does also say that he wants to do real backup with a big fat drive sticking off the server, which there's nothing wrong with IMHO, for a small enough company. Combine that with low-cost cloud backup and you have a decent solution. The only step I'd say then missing is sending encrypted copies offsite, to a home or another branch if he can't afford a data vault.

comment What storage format does the SunOne mail server use?
Just open some of the files. Maildir uses one email per file, and mbox concatenates every email in the folder into one big fat file. It should be obvious if it's one or the other.
