comment Strange dropped packets coming from port 8888 and with ACK or ACK+PSH set
@pabouk Well It came from two netranges one from GB the other from southern asia. To my knowlege there was no allowed connexion on 8888 on the top router (and it was absoluetly not allowed on the server). These packets were recieved at a small rate during 6hrs.

@voretaq7 I should have mentioned earlier that it was, in my case, a "disposable" development VM, for which I don't want to waste time ;).

@voretaq7 Well this helps a lot when you don't want to waste time on rebuilding a whole system.

All theses options are security sensitive and so are limited to server config : httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_ssl.html#sslengine Context: server config, virtual host

Nice I didn't know about that! I see in the man that write accepts a list of file descriptors to monitor. How would you get the list of opened file descriptors

comment How to setup a disposable/sticky mailbox relay server?
Thanks for this answer @adaptr ! Unfortunatly postfix is a monster for me (I use it often but never configured one) and, until now, I didn't found a good tutorial on how to configure it in what I would call "relay mode". From the parameter's doc I think I should go on and play with postfix.org/virtual.5.html ... and learn email routing within postfix

comment SSH Prompts for password even though private keys are available, presented to server and known to it
@Random832 it's not decrypted, I need to manually ask for decryption & mounting of my home dir. Fortunately I don't need it often so this behavious still fits my usage. (beside, I've decrypted it's content a few days ago since I was not using the encryption feature)

Good idea !! I think the user dir is encrypted so this could be it!
