I'm a software developer with a long career. I have a good-sized family: one wife and three boys, one autistic. We live outside of Boston.
My interests, generally reflected in my blog, include: software engineering, parenting, math (especially visual aspects, such as geometry), politics, geeky recreations, language, and so on.
I've worked in a bunch of places, usually each smaller than the last. Now I freelance, get in touch if you have a project you think I could help with.

Incorrect gzipping of http requests, can't find who's doing it We got confirmation from Akamai that they are gzipping the response and adding a "Content-Encoding: gzip" without first removing the existing Content-Encoding. We've identified the place in our code that adds the identity header, and removed it. Still no word on what "X-N:S" means! :) |

Incorrect gzipping of http requests, can't find who's doing it They are the exact same versions on each machine (the entire population of packages is exactly the same). |

Incorrect gzipping of http requests, can't find who's doing it These are JSON posts, so I don't expect to have any caching. There's no evidence that something is caching, judging from the Apache logs. |
