vlan segmentation for developers and version control servers Thanks Martyvis. This is exactly what I have in mind (we will use a l3 switch) that is to separate users, developers, internal servers and external facing servers. I am only not sure about internal servers such as svn or a file server that is only used by users (not developers). Is it better to put them into internal servers vlan or put them into developers and users vlan ? What would you do ? |

vlan segmentation for developers and version control servers If I add there are other users also that should not see svn so easily (some kind of network security issues) and there are other servers also in the network, then how do you think it would be better to make the partitions ? |

configuring apache as reverse proxy and tomcat for production No special reason, but my question is also valid when mod_jk is used also. |

network topology including many services Thanks James for reminding about IDS. Actually I did not think about it yet because I am not sure there will be an IDS device at start. However, I was thinking to put IDS in front of DMZ1 later. I wasnt planning to put it before DMZ2 or internal actually, is it the practice to put it before each zone ? And for DNS, right, I did not think about that also. It should probably stay in DMZ1 right ? |

network topology including many services Actually I though I wrote answers for these questions. internally 50 users, for them regular office services, email, internet and file share. for public, dynamic web http content (not pages but services), and ftp. Internet connection is probably 10mbit and I dont expect more than 50 req/s for public services. |

checkpoint utm-1 edge concurrent users Thanks James. Do you know what happens if this limit is exceeded ? Are packets dropped or put into a wait queue or something like that ? |
