comment HOW TO: disable sudoer from editing /etc/sudoers file?
+1 for mentioning both SELinux and AppArmor, it's the only way to go once you've handed the root keys to a user through sudo :)

comment What are the drawbacks of running a database inside a virtual machine? How do I overcome them?
Definitely Disk IO is the big culprit, and what virtualised environments tend to be flaky at.

comment Apache File does not exist but all links work
+1 on incomplete question, you need to give a bit more detail, do the directories exist? What are the links/redirects in your referrer to those directories?

You can also try to connect through a local socket, although as voretaq7 says there's more information to fill up

a directory is also a file in a unix filesystem, what ooshro says is completely correct

comment Disable SSL2 for each domain using vhosts_ssl.conf
Correct xxx would be the IP address, yyy the domain name (also ServerAlias if you need any) and the ssl_parameters.conf will be in /etc/httpd/conf.d

comment How do I set up an sftp user to login with a password to an EC2 ubuntu server?
Doron, you won't be able to just allow one user via passwd, you either allow password auth for everyone or for nobody. Also /bin/false won't allow sftp connections (any ssh connection needs a valid shell, that's where rsh does the trick)

comment Networking not going on Ubuntu VMware guest that was copied
This breaks because this file is created the first time the machine boots up, it sticks the MAC address to the interface, which should be unmutable in all cases... except when you move a VM from one machine to another, happened to me before as well :/

comment VirtualHost not directing properly based on domain name
Nope, it's just a question of ordering, as you see the last config is the dev file so the other ones take precedence
Feb

comment VirtualHost not directing properly based on domain name
Yes! In order to get it right, just rename the one having the catchall ServerAlias to zzz_whatever.conf, it'll read the files in alphabetical order so you have some leeway there
