comment debian dependencies (libssl-dev and libncurses5)
I wasn't even aware that 2.6.18 would run on squeeze due to the new version of udev.

comment Pushing to local gitosis server asks for password
The post-receive hook does not get set to executable so it does not update ~/.ssh/authorized_keys.

comment Gitosis, created testproject, but can't create more projects?
Its not an 'unknown reason', the install script is broken and the repo hook doesn't get set as executable.

comment What is a typical size for a minimal Linux server install?
Damn Small Linux hasn't had a release since 2008 and reportedly development has halted. It is probably a very poor choice right now.

comment “Half” ssh authorization to a server with git repository
Gitosis is unmaintained and deprecated, its not even worth mentioning it to people that don't already know about it anymore.

comment Hang while starting several daemons [solved]
rsyslogd is not ment to be run in runlevel 1. Do not use runlevel 1 to try to figure out what will or will not start in runlevel 2.

comment Question regarding Linux LSB init script directives
@Tim: insserv is available on Lenny but since not all init scripts may have the necessary tags for it, installing it might break your system.

comment Jail users in a directory
@Kevin: OpenSSH is a fairly common part of any linux server. If you can ssh or sftp into the server then you are probably using OpenSSH already.

comment Unable to force Debian to do unattended install… libc6 wants interactive confirm
@JD Long: The sh -c method is assured to work as long as you are allowed to run sh through sudo. The one I used can be rejected by sudo depending on the sudo config, but I find it highly unlikely that would happen in a situation that you could use sh -c as an alternative.

comment gitolite post commit hook to update redmine's repository
Does redmine support bare repositories now? I don't use it but last I heard sometime last year it only supported non-bare repositories, and gitolite only works with bare repositories.
