comment How can I deploy a scalable, reliable haproxy cluster on Amazon EC2?
How do you keep HAProxy/Nginx etc from becoming a single point of failure? Is there a way to run a high availability config for HAProxy/Pound/ etc in EC2 (VPC) infrastructure?

BMDan, Thanks for the sage words. My objects will be shared across sessions. Some of the content is going to be "live" segmented video where the segments will be periodically (every minute or so) updated. Even in this case, a live video feed will push segments onto the varnish node which will then serve it to the masses.

lsyncd looks like the thing I need. Frankly I am surprised rsync does not already do this. Keeping remote folders in sync on an ongoing basis would appear to be a pretty common use case.

Hi Samarudge, thanks for your response. I am generating fast changing content that needs to be on my edge nodes before the clients get there. My data source publishes the content on one server using WebDAV and I need to rapidly mirror this content on edge nodes.

Hi Malaytar, Thanks again. I am building sort of a local CDN for controlled OTT delivery.

Hi rmalayter, Thanks for the insightful response. I want some degree of peace of mind in knowing that a disk failure will not bring down an edge cache. Is RAID5 slow for read as well as write? Is there another way to make my storage more robust? Also I heard Varnish uses multiple thread. More cores == more threads. Does that logic work?
