Thanks for your contribution both, if you look at the diagram the allocated range is 10.1.120.x so this won't conflict with users home networks.

As I see it service policies can only be applied on a interface basis which means the vpn which is terminated on the outside will always get doctoring because of dns reply will come from the inside to the outside interface. However when a user is actually on the inside interface in the office their dns traffic won't ever hit the outside interface because the dns server is on their same physical interface.

Is this based on experience with HP servers yourself? I favour your solution simply because if a disk is being written to when physically removed from an array the disk heads will be on the plater and could cause damage to the disk itself. I'd rather the drive was out of the array and spun down. Which is hopefully what the commands should do.
