comment Setting up SysLog on Windows
1. The idea would be to secure the sent packages, this is just a simple test, so, for now, not that of a big problem; 2. NTSysLog does convert Windows Logs into one line that's why it's greatly used; 3. non-standard port ... need to recheck that!! 4. Firewall... grrr, forgot all about that !!

comment How can I set Out-Of-Office in a shared mailbox
@DanBig sorry, but, how and where can I set this in OWA? small screencast of my choices -> bit.ly/K84j5I I can't figure it out, or what you're saying is, because I have the shared mailbox under my visible mailboxes, once I set my own mail to OOO, all emails sent to those shared mailboxes, will be configured with OOO as well?

where do you get the Mail menu? I only get this when searching for email: i.stack.imgur.com/oSHig.png - Do I need to download Windows Live Essentials for this?

When you say via OWA, I'll assume that you are referring to a direct access (user, pwd), but it's a shared mailbox, so, there is no password. If I add that shared mailbox to my own account, I will have no settings to handle that, and the Auto Reply will be created on my own account: i.stack.imgur.com/XjBb0.png and not in the shared mailbox.

comment Windows 2008 R2 does not keep ASP.NET Sessions using Server Name
I did tried that, was one of my first thoughts, but this is very weird. I wonder if it's a DNS problem (thought I tested with openDNS servers and flushed the cache) . then I remember ... wait, this is internally, should never go to outside DNS. :( P.S. I still have this problem in 2 Windows 2008R2 Servers.

comment ASP.NET MVC shared web hosting recommendations? (Alternatively, good Windows VPS providers?)
I love DiscountASP.net, I'm with them since 2005 when they only had servers in US (I'm in Europe) and I must say... I developed a web app and hosted there ... we are getting so many 503's !! we are spending 60Gb bandwidth per day. So... for this scale, do not choose them!

comment IIS 7.0 does not keep Session Variables
for what I read cookieless State works on .net 4, and all examples point to SQL Server (like SQL Session State) and I don't want that. This is a simple "web application" and works fine under Windows 2003 Server and IE 6... Session problem is on Windows 2008 R2 and IE8 :(

comment IIS 7.0 does not keep Session Variables
it does all the time: Response sets a cookie: Set-Cookie: ASP.NET_SessionId=21rl2re24e0d2h3543yel245; path=/; HttpOnly - this is really very strange, even outsite the server, in all IE, the behavior is the same... and no yellow message as you can see by the screen cast.

comment Virtual Hyper-V Windows 2008 R2 Server Web Console
I never been fan of powershell but got the remote server to work, though I would really prefer a vmware web console alike: balexandre.com/temp/2010-05-20_1051.png

comment Virtual Hyper-V Windows 2008 R2 Server Web Console
you shouldn't be so rude, the question is easy and simple, was asking for the web console just like there is in the 2005 version! HV is in a Windows 2008 Server R2 so, it has IIS ! you should read the manual as web console is available in 2005 server (blogs.msdn.com/tvoellm/archive/2009/08/05/…); VMWare offers Web console on their VM servers, so it's ok to think that MS could do the same; next time, think before you write... maybe you're a little off the Virtualization world

just for the sake of putting Outlook out of the picture, download the 2010 Beta version and test it... if it still happens, can be some setting on SharePoint
