comment traceroute TCP equivalent for Windows
When I run the above command on my nmap it actually does an ICMP traceroute. Also weird, you specify port 8000, but nmap is using port 443 for the actual traceroute. Why?

comment Are PHP session files ever deleted?
Actually, whether it is or not depends on how your system is configured.

comment Are PHP session files ever deleted?
@GetFree well, you wouldn't need to write one. There are existing session handlers for memcached, mysql, redis, postgres, msession, and many more.

comment Is there a way to get Apache to listen on an interface instead of an address?
@MichaelHampton yes, because I don't want apache listening on external IP addresses. I want all HTTP requests going through the load balancer.

comment Coherent logs from multiple identical nodes
It would help me to understand why you think my question is shopping. I had rather thought I was asking for a simple way to tail a logfile interlaced across multiple servers, but you seem to think I'm asking for an enterprise graphical monitor and log analyzer (orders of magnitude more complex than what I thought I was asking). Where lies the disconnect?

comment Why shouldn't you let developers near root passwords?
shrug We don't let sysadmins have root passwords on a regular basis either. They can get access, but if they do it gets recorded, and they shouldn't regularly need to do that.
