comment Crimping a external telephone 2-wire cable to a RJ11 jack?
If your wire differs from the needed thickness I'd advice to first make a solder connection to the right type of wire.

comment How can I use full 32GB of SSD in my c3.large EC2 instance?
Can you check what your software indicates the actual disk size is. Keep in mind that there is always some overhead on partitions and even in the actual disk image. Check this page docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/…

While I can see this would work, I've gone with the option to go with spillover mode, this has now worked for more then half a year. (This is indeed also with a custom trunk setting, but prevents having to mess with routing)

comment Esxi Host: acceptable memory overcommitment
From my experience when the Guests are actively using all or most of the memory (eg a linux mail server where the base system is using 250mb but the mail app is actively using the rest of the 2 gigs) you will most likely always run into noticable performance issues. In general you don't want to overcommit at all, It's better to let the guests do the swapping themselves instead of the esxi server.
