openssl s_client works against SMTP servers, too :-)

what I meant is: do the fingerprints differ between the two? If so, you should be able to tell them apart by that difference - nmap.org/book/osdetect-unidentified.html

you're not describing the webserver config you have... if you look at it from the outside, try openssl s_client to get the certificate details, and match them to what you have in the cert store, then you know which certificate is offered as a starting point.

is nmap an option? Does the output of nmap -O for two hosts known to be S10 and T10 respectively show a different result?

comment Cheap but Highly Available Shared Storage?
@mark-henderson: don't agree with it beeing "too localized". The shopping list in the question is exactly what's on lots of peoples minds right now. Care to elaborate how the dimensions of the question satisfy the narrowness criteria?

@w00t - actually, dirt cheap compared to other SAN storage when expressed as $/GB. I admit the treshold is high with 27T as "entry level", but the price per unit of storage is ridiculous. Caveat: the 27TB model does not support iSCSI by itself (unless you are devious and hook up a couple of phased out boxes to attach over FC and offer iSCSI. Share and enjoy)

we run a IBM XIV attached to a FC SAN and I really like it. 1 maintenance visit from the IBM technician 1 month after they delivered it to replace 2 faulty disks, no production impact. Running flawlessly for 17 months since.

yes, it's a re-branded Brocade. Gotta love those schemes were they separate sales features from tech features.
