comment Alfresco “ Error creating bean with name 'dictionaryRepositoryBootstrap' ” when deploying alfresco.war
Alfresco 2.1 is practically stone age... Is there a reason why you're using such an old version?

Where is Alfresco installed? On your machine, or elsewhere?

comment Unable to access Windows share
That's a good start! You'll need to give you Alfresco credentials, and ensure that those credentials are from a part of the auth chain that is CIFS compatible

What happens if you try to access it as \\(server ip address) instead of \\(server name) ?

comment Ldap query on single subOU for Alfresco
Oh, just a thought - do you have a literal bracket ( in your name? If so, you'll need to escape that just as you escape the = (I'd assumed it was part of the fake name but I'm now less sure...)

They don't have the same DN though! Try adding the Users(SubOU) onto your searchbase, with something like ldap.synchronization.groupSearchBase=ou=users(subou),ou\=Groups,dc\=red,dc\=lan‌

Why not just specify the exact DN of the Users(SubOU) part of the tree and be done with it?

comment scp stuck when trying to copy files from Linux to windows
Rsync over SSH would seem like being a much better fit for you than straight SCP, is there a reason why you're not using rsync?

comment How to configure Alfresco for ActiveDirectory SSO?
Have you setup the AD Authentication subsystem yet to sync across the users? i.e. is that the step you're stuck on, or is that working and now you want to do the NTLM SSO?

comment How to install alfresco on linux using puppet?
Why not use puppet to install Tomcat, the JRE, OpenOffice etc individually, then have puppet push out the wars and config for alfresco? Should be much simpler than trying to do the whole lot in one go!

comment alfresco, tomcat crashes on startup, no clues in the logs
Have you tried starting up Tomcat, then looking at the Tomcat status page to see if it's even seeing the Alfresco webapp?

I think your windows service definition might be stuffed, as that doesn't sound quite right, but I can't be sure as I always use Alfresco on Linux....

1296ms looks much much too quick for a real Alfresco repo to start up, I wonder if just Tomcat is starting without Alfresco. Did you try checking your alfresco.log to see if that tells you what has gone wrong?
