It also prevents daemon from stoping when it's packages deletes from the system. This is not good.

it can break nginx logrotation because Ubuntu's /etc/logrotate.d/nginx use invoke-rc.d nginx rotate in postrotate section I'm using version which is slightly different gist.github.com/hostmaster/7c25ef4e1e47bc3e2d71

By default, OpenVPN runs in p2p mode so IMO it is much more easier to create p2p encrypted tunnel and use IP from both sides of the tunnel for app interaction
