comment IIS 7 email forwarding
Which email server are you using? You specify IIS but it's quite likely that you're using somethign else for your email. If you are using the IIS SMTP server, please explicitly specify this.

Whilst I agree with your post and rebuttal, insulting people by implying they are stupid won't win you many friends. Plus, it's Christmas! (well it is here at least)

comment Forcing a webserver that only works on localhost:8080 to work outside as well
It could also be a hostname based virtualhost, meaning that it is only listening specifically for 'localhost', even on all bindings

comment DNS and Server Configuration
It also depends on whether or not you have multiple physical locations to put your DNS in, and if those multiple locations are multi-homed. You never want to have a single point of failure for your DNS, and setting up multi-location, multi-homed DNS servers are usually out of most companies and sysadmins comfort zone, especially when for $60/year you can get a 100% SLA and 6 distributed nameservers from a commercial host

comment Is asymmetric latency common in practice?
Not really. The internet is incredibly fluid, 10 requests sent 0.1 of a second after each other might take 7 different routes to get there, and arrive in a completely different order than what you sent them. Do it 1 second later and they might arrive in a completely different order

comment What does a warning sign mean in Disk Management?
If I remember correctly, it's saying "Don't rip this disk out of the system or you will loose everything". But I'm not 100% sure, so I won't post it as an answer
