All around Technology Lover. Built my first PC at age 8, first full-time paid computer job at age 14. English Literature and Philosophy of Technology educated human who spends most of his time on Stack Overflow...go figure! I've been a leech on the Stack Exchange Networks for all too long, now I've started answering and asking questions and I'm really enjoying the Stack Exchange communities. Stack Overflow, Meta, and Astronomy especially :-)

None of my, AD bound computers, mobile accounts, have that hidden file you mention. Could have been a little helpful. Which OS version do you see this on? I don't see this on anything 10.7+

@artfulrobot sorry, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. You might want to open a new question and reference this post and solution to best be helped.

comment Cisco and HP backups to Spiceworks TFTP occasionally creating .tmp files
Just erase the tmp and do what? As I stated 100% of the time the HP backups are tmp's.

Yep, @cpt_fink pointed me in that direction. I've worked around it by issuing an mv *filename* filename command in the script, in case there is a tmp remaining. Still hoping to hear back from Spiceworks regarding the matter: community.spiceworks.com/topic/…

Yes, @isedev that is correct. I have tried sub domain delegation and it does not help in my case.
