This answer is no longer correct/relevant. You can change ETags in iis 7+ by adding an outbound rule as seen in my answer serverfault.com/a/528346/78230

You could still do this, just after you'd have to disown -h: stackoverflow.com/a/625436/705198

comment Supervisor HTTP Server Port Issue
run a find / -name supervisor.sock before you run unlink - on debian systems it sits in /var/run/, but your unlink solution worked for me

If you have a 4 port switch, and your router/dhcp/firewall box plugged in to the same cable modem - I'm assuming your cable modem is also functioning as a router (unless you have 5 IP's from your ISP). If this is the case, more than likely any malware that would scan for additional computers to spread to would be stopped at your firewall/router. If you wanted to be safe, you could throw in an ACL on your firewall/router that explicitly blocked traffic from the "fun subnet". 'deny to/from 192.168.1.0/24 allow to/from all' something along those lines depending on your firewall's syntax

comment Cheapest hosting for a node.js implementation?
grab webmin webmin.com/download.html :) it's free, there are plenty of howtos around on getting it up and running, and there's a debian package for it too so you can install it on your ubuntu 8gb AMI.

Definitely. I love multipurpose. This is almost a requirement when setting up machines for development anyhow - though even in prod I keep them the same (even if they're the only thing living on the server).

Awesome! I'm happy to have helped. One more tip on EC2 - don't buy into their "elastic IP" item unless you're running something business critical. If your system is up 24x7 like mine, your dynamic EC2 IP will never leave you. I've had an A record for my domain pointed to my "dynamic" IP since November of 2010 and haven't had to change it since. Once you're up, just do a quick 'curl www.whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp' and there's your external IP.
