No, this is a client. The server is running the Heimdal implementation on FreeBSD.

The mapping works. I get the correct user names displayed. However, the actual permissions that are being applied are for "nobody".

I did number 1 already, and it had no effect. As for number 2, are you referring to the DNS domain or the Kerberos realm?

Does the reverse DNS entry resolve properly? In other words: does the IP-address resolve to the correct host name?
