comment What language for starting on Linux?
I've always thought ECMAScript is the programming language and Javascipt sits on top of ECMAScript to provide useful functions for manipulating the DOM. Javascript is for the browser.

Thanks for the answer! I can get the forwarding itself to sort of work. After I have the command set up to forward all requests from port 3310 to remote ip 3306 and then try to use mysql workbench...it fails.

If I put in a linux cd and run in recovery mode...what do I do next? Will I be able to open the sudoers file in recovery mode?

I am in the admin group id uid=1001(jmayhak) gid=1001(jmayhak) groups=111(admin),113(ftp),1001(jmayhak),1004(developers) the problem is no one has root access anymore. and as far as I know you can't log into the machine AS root on ubuntu server
