I got the old DC to boot by replacing the power supply. I'm backing it up and am going to try to P2V it. I'm also going to DCPromo a Win2008 server as a backup.

Woohoo! I found an old power supply and was able to get the old DC to boot. I have a Win2008x64 server here, if I DC Promo it, will it replicated from the OLD Win2k server?

VMWare Workstation version 8. After I couldn't get it to work, it appears I uninstalled it. Since I have the old DC hard drive currently spinning and attached to this computer. I'll going to install it again and see what I can do. The old DC was using a EP4g4a+ motherboard and a Promise Ultra100 TX2 IDE card.

I tried to P2V the old hard drive before but I get a BSOD. Trying to boot the old drive in a new machine...BSOD. BTW...thank you Alex for trying to help me.

yes. I had an old w2k domain from 2002, it was never able to migrate it up to 2003 so I set up a w2k backup DC and moved the FSMO roles to it. The old DC died and I was using the new one.
