I like smart people who get things done. I do my best everyday to be one of them.

I code mostly in C++, Python, Java and... whatever comes my way. I also like to understand a problem down to its roots, a process also known as debugging.

That is what I was looking for. It never occurred to me that I could restart the netlogon service. From server_A, I use net view \\server_B I get the trace I need.

comment Active Directory LDS classes: what's the difference?
If a LDAP directory was a file system, organizationalUnit would be folders and users would be files. Groups would be zip files, I guess. Obviously, a directory (LDS) has much more to offer...

I was reading an old version of MS-ADTS. The latest version does mention urgent replication. Will read and update the question.

The results are the same with ldifde (which I use most of the time), ldp and Apache Directory Studio. I would prefer urgent notification, but would settle for normal replication.

Do you have the problem with LDP.exe, too ? I had a problem with ADSIEdit myself.

comment ADSIEdit freezes gettings properties of a group with hundred of thousands members
FYI, Microsoft support looked at it. ADSIEdit does try to allocate memory for all the data when it comes to attributes. Will not fix.
