Various programs appear to be trying to install themselves to my user account on all servers. Why? That seems to have solved it, Harry, thanks. |

Various programs appear to be trying to install themselves to my user account on all servers. Why? I have gone to find out what the "Run key" is. Do you mean HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run ? The only thing I have there is the MS Office sync process. I've looked for the path of the installer and that is listed in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Products\[GUID]\SourceList under the LastUsedSource key as n;1;[path]. Does that tell you anything more? |

Various programs appear to be trying to install themselves to my user account on all servers. Why? Aside from that, what on earth does your third sentence mean? |

Various programs appear to be trying to install themselves to my user account on all servers. Why? Well, it is various programs but, fair point, the only program I've mentioned is the one whose origin I've got some idea of. The rest give me a lot less information. |

I want a user to see a shortcut on their desktop only when they log into a virtual terminal session After consultation with my more-learned colleagues, I am told that the user in question is part of a larger group of users. If I'm applying this policy to a group of users, how can I make sure that he's the only one who sees the icon? |

I want a user to see a shortcut on their desktop only when they log into a virtual terminal session @t1nt1n It's Windows Server 2008 all the way through, I believe. |
