comment Logstash is not processing MySQL logs correctly
Yes, it is related to the extra space. After 10:00:00 it starts working fine. I'll try this Monday, thanks!

comment Cannot put application back into ELB: Instance has not passed the configured HealthyThreshold number of health checks consecutively
The application is back up however when re-registering it back into the load balancer. It's even waiting until the application comes online and doing a health check.

My bad, the = after % was missing! <%= (hostname.center 43, " ").center 45, '#' %>

comment How to make a dynamic motd-module in Puppet?
This is not true. The entire line is empty... hostname is set, because <%= hostname %> works fine.

comment How to make a dynamic motd-module in Puppet?
Hello, placing <% (hostname.center 40, " ").center 44, '#' %> in /etc/puppet/modules/motd/templates/motd.erb generates an empty line.

comment NFS not working on bonded NFS interface - mount.nfs: No such device
No, I do not have portmapper running, but I don't have it running on other servers either, where NFS works just fine.

comment Best practices in keeping older versions of RHEL secure?
So Red Hat does not release errata for RHEL 6.2 and any RHEL 6.3-server is by default insecure after a year, no matter what we do?

comment Home directories created with wrong Selinux context
Yes, pam_mkhomedir does not make home directories with the correct SELinux contexts. This is confirmed by Red Hat and their recommendation is using pam_oddjob_mkhomedir.

comment MySQL is running VERY slow on CentOS 6x (not 5x)
Yes, you shouldn't just allow people to tell you to buy new hardware instead of locating the problem. The laptop might be old, but it's still worth finding out why MySQL runs so much faster on one distro versus the other.

comment How to make sure RHEL will see multipath disks after a reboot?
Thanks for your reply. I haven't made any changes to multipath.conf recently. Chkconfig already shows that multipathd automatically starts after a reboot. I will check out to see if the storage/HBA module gets loaded after multipathd, but that wouldn't explain only half of the devices to show up correctly?
