Users on Windows 7 not gaining their user permissions on existing Windows 2008R2 AD Domain Just for clarification you have had server 2008r2 with xp clients and when you upgraded to windows 7 the clients cant access shares. Are the shares new or have the users been able to access these shares when they where running xp? Also you mention their "private files" are you using roaming profiles? or file redirection? I believe when a user logs in from xp its Profiles/username and in 7 its Profiles/username.v2 when using roaming profiles. Could this be an issue? Let me know thanks |

Windows virtual pc 2007 OS disk expansion Personally I use VirtualBox and I know that you can create ether a fixed of dynamic virtual Drive. VirtualPC I'm not sure If this is a new install you may want to give virtualbox a try instead of virtual pc. I have found it to be more versatile |

Windows Server 2003 C: partition - managing I agree at least 30GB to 60GB, 12GB is way to small. If the server isn't in full production yet you may want to consider reformatting and partitioning the drive to accommodate 60GB. |

Windows 7 Machines do not take reserved IP address from DHCP Interesting situation. So you are trying or rather okay with creating a static IP for the windows 7 machines? Have you done this in the NIC configuration? Click Start, Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and sharing center, local area connections, Properties, Assuming your using IPV4 click internet protocol version 4, Then click properties, then click use the following IP address and assign the static IP address. Hope this Helps let me know thanks. |

Windows Server 2003: Permissions affect a specific user, but do not affect the user when delegetad by group membership You should be able to add the users group to the share then security settings allow authenticated users/domain users change/modify |
