Sorry dude, I asked this over on SO as well because it was a bit SO and a bit SF. I got this reply from a MS employee (Tobin Titus), it's a bug: stackoverflow.com/questions/1671702/…

Hi Scott, thanks for the response. Actually....I just discovered that if I disconnect and reconnect to a site using Remote IIS Manager the feature is indeed hidden from view. I thought that doing a right-click refresh on the site in Remote IIS Manager would refresh the Feature Pane accordingly, but not so.

comment IIS, is there another way?
+1 - Accurate comment, OP needs to spend time familiarising himself with IIS instead of blaming it...or as John says, hand the deployment and config to an IIS pro. It's this kind of fiddling around that leaves servers broken or compromised because someone didn't know what they were doing. There's no shame in calling in an expert.

@Matthew - just a quick question, why would I want to turn off DHCP on the Billion and use the LinkSys instead, the Billion is still being used as a wireless access point?

Just about to order one of these LinkSys boxes from ebay. Thanks for the recommendation. Oddly enough I accidentally bought one of these (or a v. similar mode) a few years back mistaking it for a bargain ADSL router. Thanks for the answer.

Ah ha...this looks like the kind of thing I'm after. I'm guessing many cable-co's present on ethernet hence the requirement for this kind of device?
