comment Set Apache Alias for specific ServerAlias
You're going to need at least Apache 2.4 to use that directive.

comment Nginx not logging PHP errors
Try to set `error_log to something. As php-fpm with nginx doesn't work as it works with apache2.

Have you tried the "-a" option for ssh from your local console, to completely disable forwarding agent?

Ubuntu JeOS is for guest operating systems, not for the host system. Which is the case.

comment Failed installing APC?
Usually, it's very easy. In gentoo, just install apache and php with apache2 useflag.

comment Failed installing APC?
Probably that's the problem, APC doesn't share memory between processes, and CGI create a new process per request. May be the answer is to use something else, like memcached.

comment Setting up a virtual host on LAMP (Ubuntu 11) returns 403
Sorry @Timo, you saw unfinished comment, read it again. It's better to consider www-data as "others"

Apache in ubuntu runs as www-data user, and all PHP is executed under this user either. Usually PHP only needs to read files, but some frameworks like CakePHP write in some places like temporary folders, or cache folders. Try to add write permissions to the temporary folder (and following folders CakePHP complains): chmod -R o+w '/home/tg/Aptana Studio 3 Workspace/ea-dev/app/tmp'

@Timo May be, you had changed your umask? Check it executing umask, it should be 0022. A quick workaround: sudo chmod -R o+rx '/home/tg/Aptana Studio 3 Workspace/ea-dev'.
