comment Does windows 7 remember shared folder passwords to entire server instead of by share?
actually you can. But you must use a workaround. You can use Server Name and IP to connect to the same server with different credential : \\server\share and \\ip\share are not seen as the same resource for Windows.

comment Set Windows 7 Default Login to a Non Domain Account
You can use .\user1 to log on local domain. The .\ represent the local domain. Very useful for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 r2.

I haven't worked with Windows Vista but I am not sure GPP can be created/edited from a Vista Machine. You require a Windows 7 or 2008 R2. Even if it was possible to create GPP from a vista I would still use a Windows 7 SP1 client with RSAT SP1 installed. Could you try with a Windows 7 ?

comment Manage Print Queue on print server without admin access
Can you check Security properties of your server, in roles > print and documents services> print management printer server> right click server name > properties. You have option for manage server. It might be what you are looking for. you can also give you support team right to restart spooler.

comment Option to use Ctrl-Alt-Del for login is disabled in Windows 7
Well i just read a few forums and if you dell notebook had fingerprints reader with his software. The software is able to lock down the feature to use CTRL-ALT-DEL. See social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/itprovistasecurity/… So if you reinstall all software from dell base setup ( driver and everything ) you might have the same error.

If you joined it to the domain and your option is disabled, perhaps there is a GPO modifiying this option ?

Any chance it would be an UAC setting blocking you? Can you try turning off UAC on windows client ? It will require a reboot : Here 2 method : blogsdna.com/1815/…

comment Using Windows XP Mode Virtual Machine on a Domain
How did you configure you xpmode ? 1 xpmode per computer for all you user ? or 1 vm per user per machine? You can already have access to Windows 7 shared drive with \\tsclient(driveLetter), same with printers.
