as i mentioned as well i am new to this if there is a better way to set this up let me know and my theoretical thinking iis would only bind to the host name defined on the site if the the user passed an undefined host this should theoretically just fail the request should it not

did you actually read my post? I want to run several web servers side by side on port 80 ie IIS and Apache and Tomcat hence why I am using reverse proxy

the port isn't important i can use whatever if 88 is reserved for kerberos i can change that fairly quickly

my IIS sites are running on port 88 with url bindings which is where i want my default route to proxy the hostname
