Netstat: How to know if it's Human or Bot/Spider/DDOS "A single browser (run by a human) should never send in that many connections.", I remember back in the Firefox tuning days jerks would up the limit to stupid amounts. Also, search engines can do this too (Yahoo was particularly bad awhile ago, opening hundreds of connections sometimes), so being super-paranoid can end up hurting you badly. |

ProFTPD Inconsistent Errors Adding TLS support to this is trivial, but I'm not going to complicate the problem. I'll be enabling mod_tls once this is running right. As for SFTP, the application I'm configuring this for (backups) doesn't support it. I could script around it but would rather just run with FTP + TLS (plus scripting it will cause me to lose a lot of features). |
