There are things I do when coding or when I am on the job.
Write clean code that's easy to read and maintain. In the long run, better written code saves time and money for a company. And overall, it reduces headaches for programmers and business folks alike.
Don't repeat yourself (DRY) in the code.
Keep it simple. If other programmers, your peers, have trouble reading your code, then there's a problem.
Stay positive and team oriented. It's enough that a company has to deal with external conflicts, it should not have to battle within.
