I try to ask simple questions.

comment Can browse ftp.microsoft.com but not our own FTP site in IE
Ok, we have a consultant who specializes in the firewall and it turns out he did in fact make some kind of change, possible on the router, that caused this strange issue. I'm not sure of the details, but sounds like you were right.

I looked at our firewall and couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. We actually have another non-MS FTP server that works fine. Thanks anyway for the help.

I can send you the ip address if you'd like. Yeah we think it's baffling too, maybe a routing issue.

We do have another account setup which has write permissions. Would that help diagnose? It works fine using SmartFtp too.

Every user listed has at least Read permissions.

comment 404 - File or directory not found with Azure/GoDaddy
Azure under "Manage custom domains" says "The IP address to use when you configure A records 168.62.224.13". This is shared hosting so I think the problem is that it needs to correctly route to my shared location on the server. Not sure if Remote Desktop works with shared hosting.

Thanks, I wasn't expecting it to be that simple.

comment Requiring mulitple group membership in order to access folder
I'm designing my own security model and I want to base in on NTSF, so was just wondering. Thanks.

Makes sense. We're creating an application where the front end can be adjusted to make things intuitive for the end users, so this strategy might work. Thanks.

Ok, I don't have the disk to install the component at the moment but that looks right. Thanks.

comment Redirect Shared Folder
Ok, that's fine. Just needed to know. I'm not really the guy who sets up the servers, more of a software developer. I'll take this into consideration in future development.

Yes, it looks like MCMarra had the same thing in mind.

comment Does Exchange Cache Mode affect email Flag Status refresh time in other Outlook clients?
But the flags do update per account on one computer. Just not another computer.... Say with 3 Outlook PCs: A, B, and C, an email flag is set to green on A. Computer B sees the green flag. Computer C sees no change.

We logged into OWA using one account, called Production@ourcompany.com. That's where we see the changes immediately. Production is added to Outlook alongside their personal email accounts. The OWA server seems to have the most up to date changes.

By markers I mean the Flag Status of the email, which appears in the list of emails. One time we noticed that the status had changed in the email reading window, but not the list of emails. I will need to check on whether it updates after a certain amount of time. We checked OWA and it had changed immediately there.

comment Using IIS6 to run kill process. Executable hangs
I'll update my post to mention this fact. This site has no external access and our business is extremely small, we have much more serious security vulnerabilities than this, but I will pass this info on to the admin in charge who requested it.

I'll look into this. Looks like a very good option. Thanks.

Yes, cscript killmyprocess.vbs works at the command line. The process needs to be accessed by all users. We have an outdated web based production system that tends to lock up, and we need anyone to be able to kill the process. It doesn't interfere with the application at all. I created a local user on the IIS machine and am able to remotely execute the process under that user's name, but it still hangs and doesn't work. I also made sure that local user had accepted the Eula which was a problem earlier. In the meantime, I'm using PSexec.exe, which works, but I'd prefer to have an IIS link.
