Yes, it looks like MCMarra had the same thing in mind.

comment Using IIS6 to run kill process. Executable hangs
I'll update my post to mention this fact. This site has no external access and our business is extremely small, we have much more serious security vulnerabilities than this, but I will pass this info on to the admin in charge who requested it.

I'll look into this. Looks like a very good option. Thanks.

Yes, cscript killmyprocess.vbs works at the command line. The process needs to be accessed by all users. We have an outdated web based production system that tends to lock up, and we need anyone to be able to kill the process. It doesn't interfere with the application at all. I created a local user on the IIS machine and am able to remotely execute the process under that user's name, but it still hangs and doesn't work. I also made sure that local user had accepted the Eula which was a problem earlier. In the meantime, I'm using PSexec.exe, which works, but I'd prefer to have an IIS link.

comment PSKill does not run from VbScript
You were right, the Eula was getting in the way. The -accepteula flag though didn't help, I had to login as the other user and click on it.

comment Shortcut on client to run bat file on a server
Thanks, looks like a great option. Since I posted I started going to iis route to run the file, since iis happens to be running on the server already. If that causes me any trouble I'll use psexec.

I think the problem was the object was already instantiated as "oShell", so I started using that and it worked.

Is WshShell.Run supposed to be instantiated somehow? I don't use VbScript often so I could be overlooking something obvious.

I tried that. Same thing. I have a copy of pskill.exe in c:\pskill.exe as well as c:\windows\system32\pskill.exe and still nothing happens.

comment Unable to save view: “There is already an object named 'Quotes' in the database.” - Error 1222
There is no mention of how to identify the process. sys.dm_os_waiting_tasks has 22 records, so I do not know which one I'm supposed to kill. Should I just terminate all of them?

comment Automated Mail sent to/from my own Windows Domain going into Junk Mail
Thanks, What solved the issue was putting the sender's email address (quote@ourdomain.com) into Outlook contacts for each recipient. This is more of a workaround that an actual solution. I really appreciate your help.

Sorry, I didn't mean to seem as though I were opposed to checking if we are blacklisted, besides the fact that everyone except us gets our emails, the issue is I do not know how, nor how to spot metadata in the headers that would cause this. Regarding your first question, we need this when users fill out a form on our webpage, and the email is a way to relay the information to the users in the company. Regarding question 2, I've tried using both Groups and actual email addresses in the From address and none have worked. Thanks.

CompWiz, this is all (sending and receiving) internal to our network, so I'm not sure if blacklists are the issue. The email is sent successfully to emails outside our domain. It seems Outlook or Exchange is the culprit, and there is no way to mark the message as safe.

comment Disk space discrepency between chkdsk and Window Explorer
Space Sniffer is great; it found a lot of stuff WinDirStat didn't see, like the System Volume files, which are 3Gb. I still do not know the exact culprit, but this answers the question. Thanks.

comment Sharepoint Reports do not work in Firefox
Chris, wait, I did a variation on your comment and it works! I set "network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris" AND "network.negotiate-auth.delegation-uris". I set them both to our web application name which is "intranet";. You should make this into your answer so I can accept it. This is great, I've been trying to get this working for over a month, thanks!

comment Sharepoint Reports do not work in Firefox
Thanks but that does not seem to work. Our network is named local.mycompany.com and I tried that, and mycompany.com and even the IP address of the Report Server. The error comes back very fast and I cannot find any log messages anywhere.

In addition, the Reporting Services Authentication Mode in Central Administration is set to Windows Authentication. In rsreportserver.config the Authentication section is as follows: <AuthenticationTypes> <RSWindowsNTLM/> <RSWindowsNegotiate/> </AuthenticationTypes>

We are using WSS 3.0 version 12.0.0.6548, with the Frontend web server on Essential Business Server 2008, and the other Sharepoint server is Windows Server 2003 with Reporting Services and SQL Server 2008 standard. I doubt it is an ActiveX issue since this also happens on an one IE browser as well, which I reset to defaults, but I will double check. We are not using any special webparts or anything.
