comment How do I select which Apache MPM to use?
I wonder, where to find compiled Apache for Windows with mpm_prefork mode. Currently I have some issues with getenv/putenv variables in PHP -they get messed up because of single-process but I'd like to have each request in a separate process.

comment Cause of Current Pending Sector and Offline Uncorrectable increase and then decrease to zero
Ok, that makes sense for Current Pending Sector. But how Offline Uncrorrectable can go from 10 to 0? Doesn't "Uncrorrectable" mean that they are gone for good and will stay offline forever?

comment Cause of Current Pending Sector and Offline Uncorrectable increase and then decrease to zero
The same thing happened today with my Seagate drive. I had a read error while copying a large file, so I looked at SMART data and saw Reallocated Sector Count=8, Current Pending Sector=10, Offline Uncrorrectable=10. Then I ran a full format. After that I see Reallocated Sector Count=8, but Current Pending Sector=0 - so, if there are no pending sectors and Reallocated Sectors did not go up, this means that they were not actually bad, right? But I was shocked to see Offline Uncrorrectable=0. How Uncrorrectable sectors could go corrected after full format, that's a mystery...

comment how to use a disk with high reallocated sector count?
I found a free utility which claim to do partitioning automatically to keep bad blocks in unused space: dposoft.net/rbd.html and I'll give it a try on my MAXTOR 500 GB which has one visible bad block at the beginning of the drive. Hopefully, it will work for unimportant stuff like movies etc.

comment GIT as a backup tool
Just curious - will it work also for slow or non-standard network drives, like the ones emulated by NetDrive or Expandrive? I find most backup software failing with these network drives. Also things get painfully slow and tend to time-out, if I want to list all the files in the backup and extract individual files. Is git able to solve these issues?

comment Fresh SQL Server DB restore works most times, but fails sometimes
Thanks, you saved me - I got the same error when restoring a backup to another SQL server which did not have this database at all. At first run I got this error, and then I just restored again and it worked just fine, all my data and tables are back.
