comment Hibernating Ubuntu on EC2 instance?
What version of Windows was this on? In this thread support staff indicate hibernation may work on Win Server 2003 because .. old version of Windows (that had to deal with pre-ACPI, older BIOSes), like Windows 2003 server, don't rely on cooperation from the BIOS (or hypervisor) to wakeup up from S4 state.

comment Schedule reboot at the specified time
@ErikE, The only way I know if is to issue to shutdown -a command which aborts the current shutdown. If no shutdown was scheduled, you'll get an error instead. I don't think it tells you when it was scheduled for though, and if you actually did want a shutdown you'll need to recreate it... so not ideal.

comment does adding heaps of drives to a raid 0 increase performance?
With rotational media, isn't there also an issue of seek time vs transfer time? Adding more disk spreads the amount being read/written across more platters (each has to do less == faster) but they all still have to perform a seek operation (not reduced by adding more drives). So, depending on the type of operations you're performing (ie. lost of small reads vs a few large reads), increasing the transfer speed (by adding more drives) could make a small or large difference.

comment is a CNAME to CNAME chain allowed
Although I do this all the time, the quote above is out of context. Just above this paragraph it reads.. Domain names in RRs which point at another name should always point at the primary name and not the alias. This avoids extra indirections in accessing information.
